Foundation Communities - Youth Program Assistant (PT)

Position Summary

The Youth Program Assistant works required after school hours 2-6:15 PM Monday through Friday following the greater Austin area school district calendars. The YPA must also work a 7-week summer program 10 AM- 3 PM Monday through Friday, typically beginning 2 weeks after the school year ends. The Learning Centers follow a 1:15 staff-to-student ratio. Programming must meet the following components: 30 minutes daily of physical activity, 30 minutes daily of homework/academic work, 30 minutes of College & Career activity, 1 hour implementing the "Green & Healthy" curriculum, and 1 hour of literacy a week. YPAs will receive training in CPR & First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect as well as training through the Central Texas Foodbank "Child and Adult Care Food Program(CACFP) At-Risk meal service, and a variety of other training for professional development.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to pass a criminal background check with a Fingerprint check

  • Reliable transportation to travel to other FC sites as necessary

  • Experience preferred

Compensation

  • $17.00/hour 

  • $300 Sign-on Bonus- Half paid on the first pay period and the remaining half after the completion of 90 days

  • Holiday and Sick Pay after one year
