Volunteer Opportunities

  • Throughout the year, we host events designed for the whole family. These family friendly events help parents and caregivers feel more involved in their children’s learning and better understand their children’s strengths.

  • Volunteers spend around two hours helping pack seasonal activity kits for elementary students at our three partner schools. Students will use these kits when school is out so learning can continue at home.

  • Host a community conversations event, where community members and leaders come together to share ideas on supporting working families and their children—helping to build a stronger community and future workforce.

  • Volunteers will help sort, inventory, and organize essential program materials.

  • Schedule a behind-the-scenes tour for your group to see our Spring Break or Summer Camps in action!

  • Our partners can collaborate with our team to design a meaningful, hands-on activity or community project that aligns with their interests and ARF’s mission.

Volunteers Make a Difference

  • Andy started ARF to help more children discover their passions and help families and communities thrive.

Whether it’s creating our own nationally acclaimed afterschool and summer camps in neighborhoods with less opportunity, equipping other afterschool and summer camps, or impacting change for all, we lead the charge to take the time children spend outside the classroom — the times of day and months when they’re most at risk and falling behind — and turn it into real opportunities, so that every single kid has that moment when they realize, “I can!”

  • ARF participants consistently outperform their peers on STAAR tests and have stronger school day attendance. As of the latest data from the summer of 2023, ARF participants outperformed their peers on their STAAR tests in math and reading by as many as 21% more youth meeting standards.
