We operate 8 community centers and Camp Moody along with 6 early childhood education centers, 60 afterschool programs on school campuses in four districts, and 20 summer camps, with 1500 staff team members, 1000 volunteers, and a $47M annual operating budget.

Responsibilities: The Perfect Candidate is...
Responsible for supervising children and staff at a Greater Austin YMCA afterschool program, ensuring YMCA policies and licensing minimum standards are followed.
Passionate about youth development programming and enriching curriculum, ensuring daily schedules and best practices are followed by each group in the program.
An expert at promoting positive relationships with children, caregivers, and staff while encouraging children’s emotional, social, and physical development.
A positive leader for staff who will go the extra mile to ensure their team feels supported and set up for success.
An excellent communicator who escalates concerns to their Youth Development Director in a timely manner, and ensures all caregivers are kept up to date on their participants' daily activities.
Flexible and able to adapt to the daily needs of the program including late pickups, behavior management, customer service, and more.
Organized in all thing's paperwork! You will be responsible for maintaining confidential records on individual children, including daily observations, activities, meals and/or snack served, and medications administered. Communicates all progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents.
Invested in professional development and attends all required YMCA and Childcare Regulation trainings.
Able to complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills: What you bring to the Purpose:
Education and Experience: 
Minimum six months experience in a licensed childcare facility or equivalent in child development credits.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
30+ hours a year of training in HHSC-approved child development topics to maintain the qualification of Site Leader (Provided by the YMCA)
21+ years of age or older
Valid Driver’s License
Childcare Regulations Background Check Eligibility (prior to release to site)
Valid First Aid/CPR (Provided by the YMCA)

Pay Range
$20 an hour
